Character Displacement in Rubyspot Damselflies

During my undergraduate career at UCLA, I was a research assistant in the Grether Lab, exploring agonistic and reproductive character displacement in rubyspot damselflies. I measured the surface area of the black wingspots of damselflies using ImageJ to determine the extent of divergent character displacement in sympatric populations of four species of rubyspot damselflies. Results demonstrate that aggressive interactions between males drive morphological differences.
